Bondi Beach Local Community Fund

Supporting the Bondi Beach community

Waverley Council is offering Bondi Beach locals small scale sponsorships of up to $5,000 to support community events, programs and other activities that provide a tangible benefit to the Bondi community and align with Council’s community strategic plan.

This outbound sponsorship opportunity is available to all community organisations and individuals who operate or live in the 2026 postcode.   

The key aims of this sponsorship are to support local community projects that

  • Inspire vibrant and connected community,
  • Support innovative community initiatives, or
  • Foster local learning and

Suitable activities include:

  • Cultural or community events and/or
  • Community education
  • Community health and awareness
  • Beach and ocean lifestyle related sporting projects and/or programs.

Successful projects will receive:

  • Financial contribution of maximum $5,000 to support your project

Please note that final amounts allocated will depend on the suitability of your project, and the volume of eligible submissions received. Applicants may not receive the full amount requested. This opportunity is designed to help you achieve your goals but should not be relied on exclusively.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals, organisations and businesses that have already successfully applied for grant funding in 2025 or are receiving direct Council funding will not be eligible for this sponsorship.

Timing

Submissions for the 2025 Bondi Beach Local Community Fund

  • Open: Monday 14 July
  • Close: Sunday 24 August 2025,

Submissions will be assessed and applicants will be notified by Monday 15 September.

How to submit

Submissions must be made via Smarty Grants here.

Submission requirements:

  1. Proof of residence / place of business or activity in Bondi Beach NSW 2026
  2. Proof where applicable that a venue booking has been obtained and the activity is suitable for the proposed venue.
  3. Proof where applicable that your proposed event/activity has been discussed/approved in principle by Waverley Council’s Events team if taking place in outdoor open spaces.

What to submit

Please provide us a short statement (max. 500 words) outlining:

  1. Proposed use of funds
  2. Demonstration of tangible community benefit through meeting one of the key project aims
  3. Alignment with Waverley Council’s and .

Think about the key aims of this sponsorship project and make sure you tell us how you will achieve at least one of them. For example consider:

Inspire vibrant and connected community:

  • How will your project resonate with the local Bondi and Waverley audiences and connect with local community, environment and/or history? Why is your project timely and relevant to our community today? Will it create opportunities for locals to come together?

Support innovative community initiatives:

  • How will the project engage your local community and/or contribute to the development of new community initiatives?

Foster local learning and awareness

  • How will the project facilitate local learning, awareness and discovery?

If successful, what happens?

Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and then an agreement outlining the details of their program and agreed public outcomes.

If your submission is successful, you will be required to enter into a sponsorship agreement with Waverley Council outlining the terms of the sponsorship. This will detail:

The dollar amount of sponsorship you will receive.

  1. Agreed KPIs for the sponsorship, based on the details of your proposed activity, its intended outcome, and the community benefit it provides.
  2. Agreed forms of acknowledgement of Council’s support in your program communications.
  • Financial accountability requirements. This will be a one page statement of funds expended and their purpose.
